Witcher 3 Remastered Best Graphics Settings
Find a practical Witcher 3 Remastered graphics starting point for Path Tracing, DLSS, FSR, XeSS, HDR, HairWorks, resolution, and FPS targets.

What are the best Witcher 3 Remastered graphics settings?
There is no single best preset for every PC. The useful starting point is to match the preset to your hardware and then change one expensive feature at a time. The Remastered feature set includes Path Tracing, DLSS 4.5, AMD FSR 4, Intel XeSS 2, and Ray-Traced HairWorks; the publisher's updated requirements also separate raster, RT, and Path Tracing configurations. A safe starting order
- Set your output resolution and refresh target first. Higher resolution has a major effect on FPS, so judge every later change at the resolution you actually play. (s17)
- Choose the matching upscaler for your GPU: DLSS for supported NVIDIA hardware, FSR for supported AMD hardware, or XeSS where Intel's option is the better fit. The official feature list confirms support; it does not promise one universal quality mode for every card. (s20)
- Treat Path Tracing as a separate quality target. The official requirements page measured Path Tracing with upscaling and Frame Generation enabled, so do not compare it directly with a native-resolution raster preset. (s17)
- Test HairWorks separately. Hotfix 5.00c reverted a change that caused serious visual and performance problems for some users with HairWorks enabled. (s15)
- Calibrate HDR only after the SDR/HDR output mode and brightness are correct. Use the HDR and lighting guide for the display-specific steps.
Quick profiles
Stable FPS first
Start without Path Tracing, use the upscaler supported by your GPU, and test HairWorks separately. This is the best first pass when you are troubleshooting stutter or crashes rather than chasing maximum image quality.
Ray tracing first
Use the RT preset family from the official requirements table, keep the measured upscaling behavior in mind, and compare scenes rather than a single menu benchmark. If frame pacing is poor, step down the RT target before changing every other setting.
Path Tracing first
Treat Path Tracing as a high-cost image-quality mode. Enable the official upscaling and Frame Generation conditions used for the publisher's Path Tracing measurements, then test a repeatable in-game route before deciding whether the result is acceptable.
